Flagler County accepts Beach Equestrian Permit applications beginning February 3

January 29, 2020 – Horseback riders planning to ride on Flagler’s beaches can apply for the newly required Beach Equestrian permit beginning Monday (February 3).

Designated access points are MalaCompra Road and Jungle Hut Road only. Riders and equestrian guides – and their horses – are strictly prohibited from riding on the dunes and beach vegetation.

Riders and equestrian guides will be required to sign-off that they received and read the ordinance adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in November 2019, and that they have signed a “hold harmless.”

Applicants must provide valid, government-issued identification, current Coggins papers, and a signed and notarized Beach Equestrian Permit Agreement.

The Parks and Recreation office is located at 1769 E. Moody Boulevard, Building 5, Bunnell. Both the application and the ordinance can be found at http://flaglercounty.org/departments/parks_and_recreation.php.
