Annual Report available

February 1, 2019 – Flagler County’s 2018 Annual Report is available on its website for the convenience of residents and visitors.

The 34-page document provides concise look at the successes and challenges of the past year, and a glimpse of what the future holds. It includes departmental updates, information about the dunes restoration process, as well as information about this year’s budget and legislative priorities.

“Flagler County is a community blessed with citizens passionate about a strong local economy, and about well-planned and strategically executed infrastructure projects,” Board of County Commission Chair Donald O’Brien said in his opening letter to residents. “I believe your active engagement in the processes of local government will continue to raise the level of the County Commission and align outcomes with community vision, and I firmly believe that government closest to the people is the best form of government.”

For example, the publication highlights the critical work of the County Attorney’s office: assembling a comprehensive evidentiary record of the public’s historic use of Flagler County beaches in support of right-of-access legislation; preparing legal instruments to establish assessment districts to pay for seawalls; and, teaching animal control officers and other law enforcement officers around the state how to successfully prosecute animal neglect cases in civil courts.

Lastly, the Annual Report provides “learn more” information to help residents stay well informed through Flagler County’s social media channels, video and broadcast programming, and county meetings.
