Register online  for special needs shelter

June 6, 2018 – Flagler County Emergency Management launched a number of website updates including a new online special needs application and registration in partnership with the Florida Department of Health.

 “We continually work on simplifications that will make it easier for our special needs residents to sign up for services they may need in the case of an emergency,” said Emergency Management Chief Jonathan Lord. “We want to ensure that everyone receives needed assistance.”

Individuals with Special Needs are those residents who require medical and/or transportation assistance should they be required to evacuate during an emergency or disaster. Brochures, printable application forms and the online registry are available at

A common question asked of Emergency Management staff is: What if I don’t have special needs, but need transportation assistance to evacuate?

“That answer is simple,” said Commission Chair Greg Hansen. “Complete the registration form to ensure the county is aware of your transportation needs. We cannot help you if we don’t know you need it.”
