POW speaker tickets at Veteran Services Office

January 12, 2018 – Flagler County Veterans Services Office currently has free tickets available to hear former POW Bill Robinson speak about his 2,703 days in captivity during the Vietnam War.

“He was imprisoned longer than any other enlisted service member in the history of our country,” said Flagler County Veterans Services Officer David Lydon. “It’s an honor to have him come and speak to us.”

Robinson will speak at the VFW Post 8696 at both 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 14. The VFW Post is located at 47 Old Kings Road N, Palm Coast.

This is a rare opportunity to hear and meet Robinson, who is a North Carolina native now residing in Madisonville, Tennessee.

Event organizers said Robinson will also be available for hand shaking, photo opportunities, and book signing. Each session is expected to last about two hours.

Tickets are available at the Veterans Services Office, located on the first floor of the Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Boulevard, Bunnell. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday – closed between noon and 1 p.m.

Free tickets are also available through the following local veterans’ organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), AMVETS, Military Officers Association of America, and the Marine Corps League.

Individual reservations can be made online for the 6 p.m. session only at www.FlaglerVeteran.com and available for pickup at “Will Call” – outside the VFW Post main entrance about an hour before the evening event.
