Public Information Office

Public information is responsible for keeping the public informed about the business of the Board of County Commissioners through a variety of mediums including newspaper, radio, television, and online. The PIO writes news releases, plans news conferences, and responds to inquiries from the media.

Additionally, the Public Information Office provides information to the public during local emergencies. For example, more than 50 news releases specific to Hurricane Irma were issued from September 6 to September 15, as well as coordinating 3 news conferences, 2 live television broadcasts, numerous telephone interviews, and participating in 25 radio programs.

The Public Information Officer also serves as Records Management Liaison Officer and fulfills Public Records Requests.
